CAD TECHNICIAN
This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading manufacturer of gearboxes, screws and jacks as a CAD Technician. Our clients, est. 1987, supply and distribute their products worldwide.
JOB TITLE: CAD Technician
AREA: Aberdeen, Fraserburgh (moving to Ellen in late 2010)
BASED: As above
BASIC: £18 – 20k, Neg dependant on experience
THE ROLE
Based within the Engineering Department/Drawing Office, you will be responsible for preparing 3D/2D drawings for all of the companies products. Working with a small team of CAD and Design personnel, you will report directly to the Technical Director. You will also be responsible for providing technical assistance to customers and the Production Department.
Ideally with an HNC / HND, preferably in Mechanical Engineering, or a Modern Apprenticeship combined with post-qualification job experience, you will have gained experience in the use of SolidWorks 3D CAD within a mechanical design environment and a working knowledge of AutoCad and MathCad software packages would be beneficial. Some knowledge of jacking systems and hydraulics/pneumatics would be a distinct advantage, but product training will be provided.
