THE ROLE

Based from home this is an excellent opportunity for a Field Service Engineer to join the service team of one of the leading suppliers of Speech Transfer Systems with an excellent starting trainee salary package. The candidate must have a motorbike license and be happy to visit all service calls on a company motorbike.

Responsibilities will include:

- Install and service basic Speech Transfer Systems.
- Plan and prioritise jobs assigned by the service delivery team ensuring completion to designated timescales.
- Complete and return all paperwork to the service delivery team to agreed standards and timescales.
- All expenses claims documented accurately.
- Advise on additional equipment needed.
- Advise sales team when needed.
- Call out Rota (no more than 1 week per month)

The candidate must have a basic keen interest in electronic / electrical systems along with good communication skills and a motorbike license. Any type of experience on electronic systems would be advantageous but not essential as full training will be given. A good background would also include; couriers, telecoms, ATM's, security systems, general engineers or a young apprentice looking for his next career move.

THE ROLE

THE ROLE
Reporting to the General Manager - Sales and Business Development, you will be responsible for the promotion and sales of the companies services and aftermarket products to UK onshore customers operating the companies or other OEM turbomachinery and associated equipment eg drivetrain components, drivetrain and turbo-machinery monitoring systems, maintenance and repair services, installation services

Through your knowledge of the market and the product(s) you will be charged with identifying potential service opportunities on installed turbomachinery throughout the UK. These service opportunities may include, amongst others, the sale of spare parts, repairs, refurbishment, maintenance contracts, rotor / spares storage and provision of manpower for field service.

Once an opportunity is identified, you will act as first-point sales contact to all potential onshore customers for service products, initiating, expediting, monitoring and providing feedback associated with all customer enquiries and quotations provided by the companies Service organizations.

Importantly, you will be able to provide initial technical advice and consultation to potential customers about the service products and capability and through successful negotiation of the contracts you will achieve sales volume targets for the supply of spares hardware and, separately, onshore field service manpower.

You will have a background in the field of industrial process rotating compression equipment and a work history including the operation / maintenance of compression equipment similar to that manufactured by the company. With an open and engaging personality, as suited to a sales role, you will have a commanding presence in a group of peers, allowing you to make full use of your excellent presentational, communication and numeric skills.

Additionally, although you will have ultimate responsibility for the successful sale, with a correspondingly high level of self motivation, you will exhibit a willingness to be a team player as you will be representing organisations from across Europe. There will be a large amount of travel required, therefore you must have a flexibility attitude toward working hours and be prepared to travel throughout the UK to visit operators / owners of process compression equipment

As part of your initial training, you will be required to spend several weeks in various locations in Europe for factory-based product familiarization training and to get to know and integrate yourself with the service groups in those locations.

You will be an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual with 5 years experience in Project Management in the design and development of electronic equipment for medium volume production and will have broad experience of applying Project Management tools and techniques, including man-management, resource allocation, cost-management and project progress reporting.

A sound understanding of analog/digital electronics design and firmware development is essential, although you may specialise in one or more of these disciplines. You must be able to demonstrate awareness and experience of designing for LVD and EMC, whilst experience in the use of design tools such as DFM and FMEA along with manufacturing technologies and test systems would be a distinct advantage.

The role requires excellent presentation and communication skills and the ability to coordinate and motivate both small teams of engineers and wider cross functional groups to meet project targets.

THE ROLE
As the ideal candidate you will have relevant design experience working within a multithreaded real time environment on Windows platforms. Main responsibilities will be developing user applications to manage large amounts of real time data, graphically display waveforms, control product functionality and perform date filtering and measurements.

Required experience:
C++ and C# .NET development using Microsoft visual studio 2003/2005, developing for MS Windows operating systems including XP and Vista.
C++ development using managed code.
Desktop applications including graphical user interfaces using Windows forms.
User interfaces for hardware control (interfacing at device driver level).
User interfaces for graphical display of captured data.
Real time data handling.
MFC, COM and Object Orientated methodology (as a development foundation).
Engineering or technical background.

Useful experience:
Architectural design and specifications.

As the ideal candidate you will have experience in high speed analogue and digital design. Main responsibilities will be designing circuits for new products and updating existing products for the companies entire range of equipment.

Required experience:
Digital design using microcontrollers, memory, FPGAs and ADCs.
Analogue circuit design for data acquisition (amplifiers, attenuators and ADCs).
FPGA code design in VHDL.
PCB layout - ideally hands on experience.
Product architectural design (functional specifications and block diagrams).
Microprocessor firmware design (for basic hardware configuration and control).

Useful experience:
High speed design with parallel data bandwidths in excess of 100 MHz.
Analogue design in excess of 50 MHz.
Xilinx FPGA devices and design tool sets.

Design simulation using PSPICE or similar software packages.
